Our Story

In 2016, Aalya and Linnea created the Peakz brand concept, a product that Linnea had been making in her kitchen for friends and family since being a teenager. Recently turning vegan a few years before, Linnea, hoped to launch a vegan friendly version in the UK market. The bridge between kitchen and factory based manufacturing was a leap they never realised would take the better part of a year and a half to get off the ground.

Identifying the best manufacturing partner who understood their vision and most importantly how to execute and produce their product in a contract manufacturing facility, was a struggle at first. Working with consultants was becoming increasingly difficult as they did not return their emails, calls, nor provided concrete next steps. Manufacturers not take a small unknown brands or individuals seriously either and eventually the pair became dismayed that their products may never be developed.

As international women operating in a very archaic male dominated industry, Aalya and Linnea found that they were not taken seriously, belittled, and spoken down to. Pitching to manufacturers required a high level of selling as some manufacturers wished to ensure they would receive long term business. Additionally, consultants wanted to include themselves in the product margin as long as the products were being sold in the market.

In the end, both of them found a fantastic manufacturer who they have been working with for years to produce the Peakz range of products. Since then, Aalya and Linnea have spent several years creating a network of manufacturers who are exemplary businesses with cutting edge solutions for new and established brands and go above and beyond to support their clients. All of Snack8’s clients work with manufacturers who are kind, professional, and culturally sensitive to those with diverse backgrounds.

In 2020, Aalya and Linnea’s expertise extended beyond the UK and Europe, by working with international manufacturers to produce the Wild Cassava Chips range. This covers export logistics and shippings and experience dealing with multi-cultural manufacturers.

The biggest outcome of this process was Aalya and Linnea’s desire to support people to get their products and brands off the ground.
